Trou Aux Cerf Dormant Volcano
One of the famous natural tourist attractions in Mauritius is the Trou aux Cerfs dormant volcano located about 1 kilometer from the town of Curepipe. The dormant, volcanic crater is around 605 meters above sea level, with a diameter of 350 meters and a depth of around 100 meters. Interestingly, Trou aux Cerfs is also called ‘Murr’s Volcano’.

Grand Bassin Sacred Lake
Ganga Talao (commonly known as Grand Bassin in Mauritius) is a crater lake, about 550 meters above sea level, located in the mountainous Southwest district of Savanne. On the shoreline sits a temple along with a collection of small shrines dedicated to Lord Shiva and other gods.

Black River Gorge
The Black River Gorges is worth visiting for all trekkers, as well as for the pure nature lovers and bird-watchers. The Black River Gorges is the largest national park in Mauritius. Famous for its waterfalls, vistas, and hiking, the gorge is in the central highlands, making it cooler than much of the island.

Chamarel 7 Coloured Earth
The seven colored earth is a natural phenomenon and a prominent tourist attraction. The colors evolved through the conversion of basaltic lava to clay minerals.
It is a relatively small area of sand dunes comprising sand of seven distinct colours (approximately red, brown, violet, green, blue, purple, and yellow).
